Nancy Vallejo is Colombian. She is a lawyer with a Master degree in ecosystem management. Since 1999, she is a partner at Pi Environmental Consulting, where she has been involved in policy and strategic issues, and fieldwork related to:

• Trade and the environment

• Corporate social responsibility

• Standardization, certification and labelling

• Social and environmental effectiveness of market mechanisms

• Legal and institutional development, capacity building and training

• Sustainable forest management

• Protected area management

Nancy has been active with different environmental and social certification initiatives, with a special interest in strengthening their capacity to deliver in developing countries, particularly for SMEs.

Prior to Pi Nancy had performed the roles of General Secretary of the Colombian Environmental Protection Agency and Senior International Treaties Co-ordinator of WWF International, focusing on the Convention of Biological Diversity and its implementation in key developing countries.

Pierre Hauselmann is Swiss. He has a Master degree in environmental management and has been involved in standardization and certification for more than 10 years. Pierre participated as technical expert in several standardization processes, including the drafting of the ISO 14000 series of standards on environmental management. He has a broad expertise in multi-stakeholder processes for standard setting and has directly contributed to the policy, strategic and institutional development work of several environmental and social certification schemes. He is a founding member of the Forest Stewardship Council.

Pierre has advised NGOs, governmental and intergovernmental organizations, the private sector on issues related to:

• Trade and the environment, standardization, certification and labelling.

• Corporate social responsibility and procurement policies

• Environmental management systems

• Forest management certification

• Incentives measures for social and environmental purposes

Pierre has also carried out capacity building on these themes in Asia, Africa and Latin America

In 1995 Pierre founded Pi Environmental Consulting, the company in which he is a partner. Prior to that, Pierre combined the technical consultancy work with running his own company designing and building furniture, and restoring antics. He was Chair of the Board of Directors of the Association Transports et Environment- ATE and Assessor Judge to the Lease Tribunal, in the Canton of Vaud, in Switzerland.
